Never Stop Dreaming

Tagboard

Sunday, February 06, 2005

I was at home from Tuesday evening till now. I had high fever (39-40) for 5 days 5 nights. I visited the hospital twice and was put on drip twice. My tonsils swelled so much that they could almost cover my throat. My fever was so persistent that heat rashes developed. During the 5 nights, I had to wake up every hour just to cough or drink water. Furthermore, I lost touch with hunger. It was an agonizing week for me.

I wonder if this is another type of 'training' I have to go through. It was no easy task trying to take care of myself when my temperature reaches 39 and above. The heat just sap away all the energy. Whatever I do would be just like a dream. Worse, I have no inclination as to when my temperature would go up. One moment it would be 38.5 and after an hour of sleep, it would shoot up to 40.3. It's a frightening situation and I wondered what would happen if it hits 41. It never did. The peak is always 40.3 for some reason or another.

I feel much better now, after taking 7 different types of medicine. My throat still hurts and my fever is still there, but it's stable now. I have to go back to camp tonight and I wonder what will happen then. I missed quite a number of trainings and I can't resume my physical training just yet. I just hope I will feel be good to go by tonight and have the strength to last one and a half days more before CNY comes.
