Never Stop Dreaming

Ahh.. I was reminded of my childhood memories. I am really grateful I can still remember the wonderful moments when I was sailing with my parents. No wonder the oceans have always been a very special place for me. It was practically where I grew up. I didn't play with other children like what most kids do. There were no other kids on board. My only toy was my red bicycle and the company of the many friendly uncles on board. Perhaps, that kind of life made me special. I found myself to be different from other kids in lower primary. I won't be surprised if it had a hand in what I am now. I shall upload the pictures soon. They are my pride.

The written test today was nothing out of the ordinary. It is the same old story of forming my own opinion and supporting it. Like last year, I found myself trying to find a flawless arguement. I sat there thinking for about 15 minutes while the rest were scribbling away. It has been a long time since I really used my brains. Luckily it is still in working order.

An amazing thing happened recently. I finally got to use a comb. It has been ages since I last used one. Pathetic.

I didn't stump the interviewers today, but I did shock them. I don't know if my views were nonsense or they were simply good. Actually, it was the first time I thought about those issues they brought up. As expected, the interview focused on real life issues, stuff which I don't usually dwell deep into. Just like last year's topic on the school motto. They asked and I have to give a quick, intelligent and original answer fluently. It is more challenge considering how 'green' I am in the topic.

Well, today's topic was on Temasek Holdings and Shin Corp. The question was coming from a corporate lawyer's point of view. The first time the question came, I sort of expected it, but I wasn't clear about what he actually meant. He had a weird accent, something like Hong Kong accent. I asked him to repeat, whole buying extra time to think about it. As I said, it was the first time I actually thought about that issue. When I started answering, I didn't stop. I tried very hard to contain my nerves and maintain a clear head. Once I hesitated, I knew it would be over. Sometimes, I had to cover up my ass by saying the wrong thing. I don't know if they found my comments absurd but, come to think of it, I am actually satisfied with what I said. *pat pat*
The surprised look on that guy's face did amuse me.

I have to go for the written test tomorrow morning. I find it redundant. I already sat for it last year. I am quite sure tomorrow's test would be on law and not the double degree. *sigh*
It costs me a soccer match and gathering with my JC class. ArGhh!!!

I went to Yuki-Yaki on Friday for a flight outing. It wasn't that great. Even the novel idea of making ice-cream yourself is not that fantastic after all. For one, it tasted weird. Go there another time? Well, I have to consider. I met my old SISPEC friend there too. He was i the same bunk as me. Looks like he is not enjoying his job in the infantry now. Compared to many people, I am lucky, really. Nowadays, the thought of booking in is not as dreadful as those times when I was a trainee. Booking in is like going into hibernation, until the next time when I book out. Life in camp can't be any simpler. I have a strong feeling that this is the simplest kind of life I will ever get.

Talking about life, I read an article about a person who has tongue cancer today, as well as a very successful man who had cancer(brain i think). 2 of them are high-flyers brought down to Earth in a very cruel and harsh way. And then I wondered, will they go peacefully, satisfied with their accomplishments or will they regret the many small things they had not done yet. It is strange that although all of us know that death can come at, "snap!", any moment, we still refuse to live life as according to what we want to do. And when it is time to go, regrets start to overwhelm us, but it is too late. So why not start now? Start learning the saxophone, making people laugh, reading a favourite book, confessing your feelings to someone, spending more time with your family. I have started my little journey to do what I want to do and be. Bit by bit, it adds up. And when it is time to go, the heart is at peace. Don't get me wrong, I am not going yet, the articles just struck a chord in me.

I received a letter from NUS recently, telling me to attend an interview and written test for the Business-Law Double Degree Programme. My initial excitement turned into frustration as it appears that I have to go for the law interview and written test all over again. I am not sure if they know I have already qualified for it. It would be a total waste of time and effort should I have to go do it all over again.

Happy Birthday May!! Love you!

The next time I go up to Genting, I will be 21. That's the promise I made myself. It's really not much fun not being able to play in the casino. Come on! It's the main attraction there. I feel caught in between. I am too old for those kiddy rides and arcade games, yet too young for casino. Can't they have something for people of my age group to play there? Despite this, I enjoyed my holiday. Haven't had one in a long time. Although it wasn't an ideal one, it's good enough, for the moment. The thing I enjoyed most, as usual, soaking in a hot tub of water, listening to music and dreaming away. I didn't realise the water was so hot until I started perspiring. It also occured to me then that my skin is getting wrinkly. Time to get up! That sort of feeling was simply heavenly. Can you imagine, it was perfect even in that sort of environment. Imagine if the environment was as perfect. I was like in another world, a world where all that I dreamed of came true, and the music was a tribute to all my achievements. How satisfying.

It really was a nice, peaceful holiday. It reminded me of another thing. Events, no matter how long or short, how relaxing or how tough, will pass by in a blink of an eye. I may be complaining non-stop of NS now, but 1 year from now, I might be missing it like crazy. Missing the relaxed pace of life and the many friends living together under one roof. A week of holiday passed by just like that, 2 years of NS will soon pass by in the same way. Yes it will.

When I was in the car, I was listening to my relatives talking about work. Surprisingly, I found it quite fascinating. I don't know why but I am looking forward to being a professional. One, I would be really independant then, creating my own lifestyle. Two, I would be at the same wavelength as the adults. It will still be a long wait before I attain that sort of status, but I just can't stop thinking about it now.

I was looking at the clouds in the car a few days back. And I wondered what would I be like if I were living in the cavemen era. As a person with zero knowledge of science, what sort of feelings would I have when I see those fluffy white stuff floating up in the vast blue space. How about the big round white ball with numerous sparkling dots with it at night. Not to mention the rapid hammering of small transparent substances on my body, when sudden flashes of light appeared in the sky, and the whole world darkened. I would be terrified by all these strange happenings and begin fearing for my life, if I even knew what life was. Mankind have come a long way. And I am grateful to know what is lightning and rain.

Oceans and skies... watch me dReAm!!!
And to all my friends who are not in the best of moods, cheer up. Being sad is not what we are created for.

I am so uninterested in my job. What else could explain my error-prone performance so far? I just don't feel right doing those chores. It is not my cup of tea. My only enjoyment is after office hours when I meet up with my buddies again, watching tv and talking nonsense. Yup.. that is the real me, talking nonsense and trying to agitate people. Haha. Strangely, I feel that time is passing fast enough. Very soon it would be May, and then it will be half a year more to actually leading my own kind of life.

I have been living in a fantasy world for the past 2 days. Just bought this game and I have been totally engrossed in it. I was quite shocked to realise it was already Sunday evening. It didn't affect my mood though, because I'm going to Malaysia tomorrow! How lucky...How exhilarating. I am so looking forward to it. Actually, I don't mind wandering around the shopping complex alone. It's freedom that is attractive.

I'm trying to get the music video. Quite nice.

Are you serious??? Come on....

I had a really long weekend. It was simply heaven. I couldn't bear to go to bed so early, so I ended up sleeping at 3 plus every night. I can't imagine sleeping at 3 plus everyday. Fact was I didn't feel tired at all, when you are playing dota and trying to learn it as quickly as possible, time comes to a standstill. Am I addicted? No no, I am just....trying it out. Haha.

Seriously, I can't think of anything to write about nowadays. My surges of inspiration dosen't come that often now. Basically, I am living in a well, but I'm not a frog. The daily affairs in camp is so monotonous that I feel like a robotic maid. Coming home would be entering a virtual world of magic and monsters. I don't even have nightmares to talk about. Starting next week, I shall begin to run around the neighbourhood. Maybe I will meet a really ferocious dog which will hopefully tear off my clothes and chase me all the way home.

Talking about next week, things will really get exciting. I am going to Genting next week! Oh boy, it reminds me of the last trip way back in Dec 2004, after which I went for that memorable Hong Kong trip. I won't be going back to camp for that whole week. Now, that is a LOOONNG weekend. Hopefully, I will have some input to my lovely little diary. The Chronicles of Marcus(NS series). How nice.

Ice Age 2 was really funny. Some of it are intelligent jokes. So intelligent that sometimes I find myself the only one laughing. Did I say something wrong or did you interpret it correctly? Haha.

P.S
Time to save up some money. Money first, food later. Always remember. (Like I will)
