Sinful!

This weekend, I put back all the fats that I have exercised away last week. Both dinners were fatty and the portions were fit for kings. Let me think... satay beehoon, satay, oyster omelette, crab, cheese pork, prawn mee etc... Looks delicious but it doesn't feel good when all of it is in the tummy.

I was looking at the video for my trial moots. I noticed several funny things. First, is the mic too low or am I too tall? I seem to be hunching all the way.

Now I know my hair is messy behind. You know how you cannot look at the back of the head when you style your hair?

When I think, I look at.... what?

It's quite interesting to see myself on video. Not because I am zi4 lian4. Ok, it is one of the reasons. But I also see for myself what weird habits I have. For example, my head tilts left and right for no reason.

Today was only a mock trial and I already feel so stressed. I was like ready to explode any moment. Next friday would be worse.

Now that I'm back home, I feel very very tired. The stress had sapped up all my energy. On the way home, I just stared out of the window, wondering about nothing. All the work done during the weekend, was it worth it?

Gross!

Oh my.. we had this talk this morning from a deputy public prosecutor (DPP) from the AGC. And he showed us some pictures from crime scenes. I mean seriously, this is my first time seeing real-life gruesome photos. Forget about SAW and all the other movies. Those are fake corpses, body parts, blood and stab wounds. This is the real thing man. How on earth can human beings be so cruel? I don't know. I only know I lost my appetite for lunch after that.

Today is 16/3. In 7 weeks, I would have officially completed 1 year of school. That's very fast. And part of the reason is that when u get buried in books, time whizzes past. In a blink of an eye, the weekend is gone. Why? Buried in work.

It is exciting to think about completing a year of school. People say school is fun, work is terrible. But I think the fun is different in both contexts. School fun is hanging out with friends, playing pranks, fooling around and talking nonsense all day long. Work fun is mature fun, fun which you wouldn't be able to afford when studying. Fun like dining in restaurants, going on expensive holidays, engaging in expensive activities. Generally, it's the feeling of greater spending power.

In some way, I think mature fun is more appealing. True, money is not everything. But having money certainly opens up more options to spice up life. It would be exciting to do things or buy things that I couldn't afford before. Of course, work is horrible. But that is a reasonable price to pay.

A day's work

As with all mornings, I drove to school. As with all Fridays, lesson ends before noon. But it is a lot more different today.

The morning started a little more hectic. Since I had my aunt's car for today, I woke up later than usual and took my own sweet time. But traffic was slow when I was going to pick up my friends. In the end, I had to drive a teeny weeny bit faster than usual. Lesson was as per normal. Sleepy, dreamy and always staring at the clock and wondering how I can make that minute hand move faster.

After class, I drove over to Kent Ridge to explore the potential staging sites for law camp. Unsurprisingly, my committee is made up of the opposite sex. It was a very hot day and it is impossible to explore without a car. To be honest, Kent Ridge does have several abandoned houses perfect for our use. Oh my, I am very pleased with the day's work.

After an afternoon of law camp work, I drove us to Raffles' City to do some window shopping. Shopping again! As if yesterday's adventure at Isetan wasn't enough. By the way, it was a fruitful shopping trip yesterday. I bought so many pieces of clothing recently that I realised I lost track of what I really need. And I think shopping alone is no fun. There is no one to turn to for opinion and no one to talk to. Shopping with girls would bore them to tears. Shopping with guys is quite...impossible and... gay? So what do I do? Also, there is so few things to choose from. Variety is almost non-existent. When I look at the endless rows of ladies' clothings, I get a picture of why shopping is so much fun to them. Because of clothes, I have to eat grass from now on. I don't have a choice. I can't go out naked.

After window shopping, we went to the Supreme Court for a debate. It was a funny debate rather than a serious one. Funny is an understatement though. I haven't laughed so hard for a long time. Hey! I didn't know the Supreme Court shifted to its new premises already. Yes, I'm a frog in my own well. It's external appearance isn't really impressive. I think the spaceship on top is hilarious. The interior is very sophisticated but there is a very distinct lack of life. This is the best description I can come up with. Well, we don't need a life. We don't have time for one. I guess that's the message it is trying to portray. The main point of that event was the food. It was reeeeallly good. Besides the lack of tables and chairs, the quality was fantastic! And we didn't even have to pay. Brilliant.

Amazing view. If my office next time doesn't have this view, I will just paste this photo on my wall.

An artistic dark photograph. Actually, I forgot to switch the mode. But it's not the face that matters. It's the brotherly love.

The Taxi

I went to watch 10000BC just now. It is my first movie since like....10000BC. No life? No, it's no company. Anyway on my way home, I had the honour of getting a cab driver who could audition for the upcoming F1. In the 5 minute ride home, there were at least 3 times I thought I was going to get into an accident. He reminded me of Takumi. It was unfortunate I bought BakChorMee for dinner and not soya bean milk. I thought I would never make it home. Thank God I did. Love you all. I realised the meaning of life after the close brush with death :=p

I went to visit Jo's church on Sunday. We were playing this kiddy game and majority of the participants were teenagers. I was forced to play it too. So I went up on stage and this emcee asked my age. I said I was 15. And I waited. There was no response except from the group of people who knew my real age. The rest did not bat an eyelid. The emcee (teenager too) accepted it as a fact. No suspicion, no doubt, no second look from him. COME ON, do I really look 15 to even teenagers? Couldn't they guess that I was no where near their age? The guy beside me actually got friendly with me after I said 15. I suppose he is 15 and pleased to find a fellow same-age fella. He is really 15. I'm not.

Anyway, I've never felt so alive. Really alive. I have things to do, to look forward to every time I get up from bed. I hit the books, hit the tennis courts, hit the movies. It's a healthy variety of things one needs to make life great!

First

I just made my FIRST suit! So exciting. Actually it's the first time I've been to a tailor. Clothes never had a place in my priority list until recently, much less going to a tailor to make an exact fit. I will even have my name on the inside! How cool is that? Clothes maketh the man. Especially when it comes to professionality. Hahaha. But I was thinking, it is no use having a nice suit. What matters is the substance and confidence I exude in court. It would be horribly embarrassing to have a nice shell but no pearl inside.

Shall post a picture of it when I finally get it end of the month. I wonder what the feeling is to be finally in it and argue like a lawyer in court. Ooh! My heart is thumping like a piledriver.

Leap Day

This has got to be the worst leap day... EVER.

I had a nightmare even before I woke up. Not about ghosts or monsters coming to eat me. But some lame stuff where I almost got killed. So weird. By the end of the day, I had so much on my mind that I couldn't take it anymore and went to watch TV. I was so stressed of thinking how to settle all the things that I had to do that my blood pressure shot up. Come to think of it now, it is silly. "Where there is a way, there is a will". Since there is always a way, there would be a will. hah! Perfect.

Leap day feels just like any other day. Why? Because it also has 24 hours. All that makes a day feel different is what you do within that 24 hours. I am secretly hoping that a day will have 30 hours. Then, I can sleep for 6 more hours. Yes, sleep is all that I think of, because I can't think when I am asleep.

Sorry for talking so much nonsense. I am really hungry, that's why.
