Today is Wednesday and I'm home. Anyone suprised? I had a bit of fever on Monday night. I thought it would go off after some sleep. In the morning, I felt better but my temperature was 38.0. So I reported sick even before I had my breakfast. My temperatre increased steadily to 38.5 and then to 38.8 throughout my stay in the sick bay. The IV thay gave me didn't help at all. By the way, IV involves sticking a big needle into one of the veins and letting water in. The painful part is not when the needle goes in, but when the needle has been there for some time. Anyway, the medical officer gave me Attend C, which means I could go home to recuperate. Well, I guess they don't have anymore ideas on what to do with me. I came home, feeling more and more sick. My mother tried to bring my temperature down by sponging me. Apparently, it didn't work. My temperature shot up tp 40.3. I didn't sleep well the whole night as I was constantly flushing my system with water. I went to the hospital this morning and to my relief, the doctor only said I have a very bad case of viral infection in the throat. I was actually prepared for a hospital stay. I am still feeling sick now. I haven't eaten well for 2 days and my whole body feels very weak. My temperature is still above 39.0 and I have a severe cough and headache. The hospital doctor gave me a MC for tomorrow. I just hope the camp accepts it. Recuperating at home certainly beats staying in the sick bay in camp.
