Graduation Day! Ermm..that was last Friday. I know I am lagging but I was really looking forward to that day. It meant that my trainee lifestyle is out and done with! Now, I can live like a normal human being. I've waited for this day for more than a year. Oh boy! However, I wasn't really looking forward to the graduation ceremony. It was rather tedious to prepare for it and alot of time wasted just to get my cert. But there is something different about this ceremony. I was quite shocked when I heard about it. Well, it so happened that I won the "Best Knowledge" award. Err.. I was really surprised, for a good reason too. Anyway, it was a nice plaque and all the tedious preparation for it was kind of worth it in the end.
It was a comical affair too. I was the first to receive the plaque and we didn't rehearse what to do when receiving it. And so, I did it my way! I went up to shake the hands of the Colonel. Next, he placed the plaque into both of my outstretched hands. At the corner of my eye, I noticed the photographer lining up his camera for a shot, and so being the courteous me, I held one side of the plaque and posed for him. I had expected the Colonel to do the same by holding the other side, but apparently he was caught by surprise. It was quite embarrassing. Everyone burst out laughing. I don't know if you understood what I just typed. If you don't, my bottomline is, it was very funny.
Almost everyone in my course went for an outing at East Coast Park today. It has been ages since I last went there. I love cycling! I love the feeling of the wind gently blowing at my face. I love cycling out to the breakwaters and those walkways leading out into the sea. Then I will stand there and look at the waves pounding at the rocks and listen to the 'song' of the waves. It is fascinating. If only the water is crystal clear, it would almost be like paradise.
The next part of the outing wasn't so beautiful. We went to play DOTA. New addiction, haha. But it is only fun when we are playing together. Coming home, I saw the recruits booking in. Much as I pity them, it is something they have to bear with, just as I did. It's finally over. It is time to start counting down to November.
